![]() Jeez, I don't think I've despised a movie this bad my entire film watching career. Cabin Fever is a disaster that fails to live up to its hype, and makes one wonder how Eli Roth ever got to direct another movie. Also, the entire purpose of the original film explained that SPOILER a dead body had poisoned the water, but in this remake we are spoon fed that it's the water the entire time but with no explanation as to why its poisoned. Is there a conspiracy among filmmakers to make me feel old An inevitable by-product of living to middle age is that films you’ve seen are remade, and sometimes more than once. ![]() The plot was all over the place, the jokes fell entirely flat, and more than half of the movie made absolutely no sense. I figured I’d catch it eventually, but then I ran. I enjoyed this film much more than the first time I saw it and was able to recognize. It seems like less and less that I am surprised in the land of horror, but today I was. Because of this, I was hesitant to watch it again. ![]() The acting was horrendous and put the original to shame. It's almost like Eli Roth read feminist analysis about slashers, honed in on the hypothesis that viewers of slashers identified with the killers rather than the victims, and said 'Yes, there's an audience for the horror I want to make' And I really don't like that sensibility. Cabin Fever (2002) That guy asked for our help. I vaguely remember seeing Cabin Fever in theaters ten years ago and I know I hated it. Not a single character was likable or made a somewhat intelligent decision throughout the entire movie. Man, where do I start? I ran through a ton of horror movies during quarantine and finally landed on this heap of steaming garbage. ![]()
